Hi guys, I just want to know if anyone else has experienced the same symptoms I have, so on Monday I noticed that my bum was sore, so I just thought it was a pile flare up, last night I checked and I have a firm lump on my anus, it’s really painful, it feels like I have a hot poker up my bum, I got some anusol from the chemist. It’s almost feels like the consistency of a grape but smaller. So my question is do this sound like piles, I don’t want to start freaking myself out again as I’ve been doing good for a while now .

Yes. When piles are inflamed they can feel lumpy and very sore. I've had grade 4 piles for several years, and am due to have a surgical procedure in a few weeks, so I'm pretty familiar with the symptoms! Hopefully the anusol will help, although the relief is often only temporary, and if they do come back, just be aware that piles can come and go. Hopefully that will reassure you.
