I am at my lowest I've ever been. I'm sick with worry.
I have had a spot in the coloured part of my eye. It's like where the ring (limbas ring) is there is a small area where it is thicker. I've had it for at least nine years because I found a picture and see it in the pic. I've been to 2 eye doctors last week. The first one said its normal eye color variation, he sees lots of these things. Nothing to worry about. The 2nd one said nothing about it at all. I didn't ask because I was too scared. She did a very thorough examination. Ocular nerve scans normal and unchanged. She said everything looked good with eye exam but I have narrow angles and have to see a specialist to open up the angles with a laser. I'm so scared that she saw the spot and didn't want to tell me because she knew I was very anxious and she is letting the specialist deal with it on Tuesday. The fact that I got a really soon appointment makes me nervous too. The spot has not changed in 9 years because I've kept a watch on it myself. I'm so scared it's eye melanoma. I can't sleep or eat because I'm so scared. :(

Some people have spots like that. Being that you've had it for nine years, I would think you are one of those people. Also, I doubt it has anything to do with your angles, so if it was an issue she would have mentioned it.

Do ask the specialist to put your mind at ease, but I'm certain you'll find it's nothing.

Thank you, I'm trying to think logically but it's hard. I think having it for nine years and it hasn't changed is a good sign isn't it? I may have had it longer and never noticed. I really never looked at my eyes up close before. It's more when the health anxiety started that I look for things. Would she have not said anything to me and wrote it down on the referral for the specialist to check out?

My ex had that in one of her eyes. You've had it for 9 years and you are still worried?

Just don't Google.

9 years is a long time I get it. It would have became worse right? Google is horrible...

My wife had a freckle removed from her eye 20+ years ago. A recent exam showed another freckle. We went to the eye doctor and the exam showed nothing to be concerned about. Based on the time period, as others have said, no need for concern.

Thank you, I went and got it checked out, apparently it's something that I've always had and they were watching for changes and there have been no changes so it's just normal pigmentation.
