Nipah virus/new virus worries

Hi all,

I'm reading about the Nipah virus and am getting really distressed at the prospect of another pandemic. I work in a person-facing role and can only minimise so much contact. I have always been really worried about new diseases, even though I am young and relatively well- I remember crying as a kid during the swine flu epidemic, even though has zero experience of it and had only heard about it from the news! Any tips or advice for dealing with health anxiety regarding new diseases would be much appreciated.

Hey, don’t worry about it. I know easier said than done. I actually read about it last week kind of freaked me out but after reading into it, it seems like it happens more often than not. Unfortunately, in those countries we are more alert now with the Covid pandemic, which is great cause I can help us avoid future ones.
