Buzzing in my left ear... Help!

Hi,

Since two days i've noticed a slight buzzing sound in my left ear. I've never had this before. I notice it mostly when trying to fall asleep or when its quiet. It's like a somewhat electric buzzing sound only in my left ear. Ofcourse im now very worried i'll have this forever or it will get worse. :weep: I made a doctor app for this friday. I did recently get over a cold so i wonder if it's from that?

Can someone help me? i'm very worried about this as i've never had it before

It just sounds like mild tinnitus, probably brought on by the inflammation in your ear from the cold. I'd expect it would fade - and even if it doesn't, our bodies are designed to absorb sounds like like and stop noticing them after a while. I have really loud tinnitus when I'm in a silent space, but I don't notice it at all during the day. I just run brown noise at night to sleep and it vanishes.

Sounds like tinnitus, I have this and like Erin said I only notice it when I am focused on it and when it's quite mine is a whoosing sound, I run a sound machine at night with ocean waves when I sleep and on during the day and it helps.
