View Full Version : Panicking, slight overdose on beta blocker

I've accidentally taken a whole beta blocker tablet when I was on half. I've been on half for years and was weaning off.

I hate the effect bisoprolol has, it's a very strong drug, it's hard to wean off and now I've gone and taken a whole tablet when I'm on half.

Now worried about the effect on my heart. For anyone reading it's likely not dangerous because I've been on much higher doses in the past and the starting dose for anxiety is actually twice what I've just taken (or even 4 times).

I know the doctor has reassured me in the past when I was worried about having the higher dose so I should just calm down and not worry, it's a one off, but I've been on half for many years now and worried about the effects of a whole tablet. Plus I hate the effects as well, I'm going to be so slow tomorrow, and cold, and more puffiness, etc.

Just hope my blood pressure doesn't go too low as it's the time of the month and my blood pressure goes low then anyway. I was given a different brand and I thought I was taking another tablet. :weep:

Hoping someone's awake and can talk me down. :weep::weep::weep:

You'll be fine, that's not an overdose. Taking a whole tablet instead of half will not do you any harm. You'd need to take a lot more than that for an overdose.

Relax, you'll be ok.
