Basically just wondering what are lectins?
I have slight food ocd about stuff being undercooked and recently discover beans and lentils have this thing Called lectins that can appernetly be fatal?

I bought a microwave dinner and reheated it and there was lentils in it. It said 5-6 and I reheated it for about 5 and a half ish maybe I’m not sure and I stirred it twice.
The food was piping hot so basically just wondering if the chance of lectin poisining is high and is it actually fatal ?

A lot of misinformation I feel !

Thanks so much !

If microwave meals killed people they wouldn't be on sale.

When I cook lentils I like to eat like a spoon of them raw. I'm still alive 🤷🏻*♀️

Lectins are not toxic. Ricin (the lectin in castor beans) is toxic. So, unless you're eating castor beans in your microwave meal (you're not) then you're fine. Lectins apparently are an "antinutrient" as I just learned, so they aren't doing anything for you, but they don't poison you and cooking or not cooking then has nothing to do with anything.
