Hi all,
I’ve always been an anxious person around my health . But now I’m panicking as my wife has had pains in her right/ central abdomen (under ribs) and groin area for about the past 4 weeks . She’s 54 and is quite fit and healthy usually. At first the Doctor thought it was a kidney stone (she had one a few years ago) , but a CT scan has shown that at the top of her right kidney there is what the Consultant describes as ‘sludge’ material which doesn’t ‘look right.’ He wants to run another scan , but added that this is not uncommon to see something like this on CT scans and there is no need to panic. My wife did initially have blood in her urine on testing, but the latest test shows this has now gone . She’s had a full blood test and that came back normal also and shows kidney function / liver function etc was normal . She does have diverticulitis which we knew about a few years ago. We asked the Consultant if this ‘sludge’ could be a tumour and he said he wanted to rule this out. He also mentioned that occasionally CT scans can be blurred, and this could be a possibility.
Obviously I am very worried about her now as she is my whole world . Sorry to sound pathetic , but I am so worried about her . Has anyone on the forum had anything similar to this or heard of something similar ? Just really need to talk to someone….Thanks - John
