View Full Version : Would paracetamol take away a headache if it was caused by something sinister?

I’ve been having on & off tension / sinus like headaches for nearly a week, and I wasn’t even overly concerned in the beginning but now I’m feeling myself spiral a little, my obvious worry is brain tumor. When the headache is at its most intense I start to feel a bit nauseous and dizzy but I think it more of a result of the anxiety than the headache. The pain also seems to worsen when bending over and standing up quickly, or when I’m in an overwhelming situation like a child acting up or in a busy shop my head feels like it momentarily inflates and I get this rush of “I’m about to pass out” but never have. I’ve also been waking up with quite a stiff neck the past few mornings. I’ve also been under quite a bit of stress lately with work and my partner is also pregnant, so which is as terrifying as it is exciting tbh. The main thing is when I take painkillers they seem to do there job fairly well but the headache has been creeping back a day or 2 later and I’m struggling not to think the worst.

With everything you're describing, my absolute first thought would be stress headache, not brain tumour!
I wake up with a headache almost every day. If not waking up with it, I get it later during the day. Tense neck, tense shoulders, I clench my jaw all day long without noticing it, all from stress. I highly doubt there is anything else going on with you

I think what’s getting me down is the fact that the headache feels like its never fully gone, it eases up with painkillers and I’m left with a constant brain fog like feeling where my head feels almost too heavy for my shoulders, again I’m aware this could be me overanalysing every sensation I feel.
