Julie,

Don't worry, there is planty of support here and you will soon find plenty of friendly people, both in the forums and in the chatroom.

I know there's no substitute for real friends you can meet face to face, and can relate to that, but I think that will come in time.

A good start would be to come into the nomorepanic chat room which gets fairly busy from 8 or 8.30 till late.

Hi Julie and welcome to the forum.

You will find everyone here very friendly and supportive and I'm sure you will make some new friends. I know what you mean about friends leaving you though. I have suffered with Post-natal depression/panic attacks and general anxiety for nearly 5 years and I used to be a really outgoing person with a great social life and loads of friends but when the panic attacks set in I became a different person and didn't go out of the house for 8 months and all my friends deserted me. I think it's very hard for some people to understand anxiety and I think some people think that we can just snap out of it if we wanted to but as you know that is not the case.

I only really have one close friend who I go to college with but I only see her one day a week as it is only a part time course and I find it quite hard to strike up conversations with other people at college but I am getting better at it and it has definately boosted my confidence coming on this site and getting support from people who really understand anxiety.

Hope to hear more from you soon.

Take care
Love Lisaxx

Hi Julie.

As well as meeting people on here and getting support we heavily encourage you to start to come to terms with and get over having panic and anxiety and start to move forward.

18 years is a long time but is not insurmountable. What help have you had in that time ? What situations cause most of your panics now ?

Hiya,
Welcome back.

So it is labryinthitis diagnosed by an ENT doctor -not dizziness from anxiety ?

You are not going insane although most of us have felt that we were too at some point.. so you're in good company. It doesn't ever happen though.
