This for me is an ongoing problem. It started when i was 19 and i kept getting headaches. During pregnancy i suffered lots of headaches and since then i suffer with them every single day. There is not a day goes by without needing pain relief and i hate taking pills.

Today is really bad. I am feeling pain also in my sinuses which is crap. I don't have any other symptom of sinus infection apart from the face pain. My headache is generally over my eyes, feeling lots of pain and pressure just above the bridge of my nose and also the temples are very sore.

I had the odd migraine, i recall maybe 3 in two years, but having to deal with headaches everyday is tiring. Its crap enough trying to go out with my agoraphobia, but when you feel constantly headachey too....not fun.

I am sat here and i can feel the pulsating in my head!

I think its time for a pill :(

hi bluebell - i really sympathise with you because i too had a chronic headache for 3 years solid interspersed with migraine. i also suffered 8 months of sinus type pain that was so bad i had to go to bed every day. i was under the care of the headache clinic and what they told me to do was to drink 8 glasses water/herbal tea a day, do relaxation/self massage, put a warm wheatbag accross my shoulders for a few hours every day and keep busy - to try and accept the headache and let it be there. taking painkillers every day in most cases makes the headaches worse - they cause rebound headaches - i was told to only take simple painkillers such as paracetamol, aspirin or ibuprofen and only when the headached was really really bad. i used to go to bed for an hour or so in the day othrwise as i found sleep lessened them. make sure you are not tensing your jaw or gritting your teeth against the pain - i found out that that was the cause of my sinus pain.

i now get 1/2 headaches a week but nothing compared to what they were used to. hope you feel better soon.

Hi..

I have been seen by a headache clinic too. The specialist said i was just one of those 'headachey' people. Great. Does nothing to help me.

I've been massaging my face and eyebrows, but no release in pain. Makes you feel tired and then comes the dizziness.

Same here I had a lot of bad constant tension headaches, everything but the stuffy nose..

They are getting better because I exercise more, stretch, and I just ignore them. Very hard to do at first but once you force yourself to do things and keep busy without focusing on the pain, letting it just exist, they go away. I maybe get 2 bad ones a week right now, but i can always point back to the tension or bad posture that created them.

Try and neck and back massage and are you sure you aren't dehydrated?

My GP was telling me a little while ago that a very good treatment for chronic tension headaches is a very low dose of one of the tricyclic antidepressants. Apparently it works very well for IBS too. You only take about 1/10th of the normal dosage and apparently it works very well. The only reason I never went onto it is because it would interact with my current anti depressants.

ps - headaches sufferers need to be wary of which contraceptive pill they are on. Dianette is a NO NO. yasmin is the one to take if you suffer bad headaches.

Do you realise that some headaches are caused by taking too many pain killers? My friend got addicted to them, well, her body did, craved them, and she had to literally go through with drawal.
Allergies? They can cause head aches.....
Cleaning products too.,,,
Tension of course..........
Hope you find a solution soon.

When i saw the headache specialist i was told about taking pills too often. I don't take them everyday, although the last week i have taken them 3 out of 5 days. Today, i have managed not to take any. I am lucky/unlucky that i can only take ONE at a time, anymore than that and it makes me feel sick.

Do i drink enough?

I drink several large glasses of water a day, i only have 2 - 3 cups of tea. I make sure i keep my fluids up.
