What are the two lumps on each side of head?

I have a bump on each side of the back side of my head? Can anyone tell me what those are? One feels more tense and sore than the other and i'm wondering what's the best way to help release it. I believe it has a lot to do with the off balance feeling i get.

Dunno.. probably just where muscles join the skull. Massage may help, being tense and bad posture probably won't help.
I doubt it's anything to do with balance, that's all Inner Ear stuff.
