hi there

Ive had the rewind and going back in a few weeks time to do some more.

I still dont know what to think about it but Im trying.
My therapist told me that it helps get stuff thats stuck in the emotional side of your brain into the filing cabinet. This is supposed to help with the way you deal with the past and any issues you have that effect your life.

It is strange sitting there and going through it, feeling relaxed and going back and forth with the same issue, she used the pretend you are viewing a video recorder with me , imagine your painful experience fast forward it rewind it and keep doing it.
i came out feeling exhausted but willing to keep trying.

I will let you know after the next session

I've seen it demonstrated on a number of occasions by therapists I know.

sorry, been absent for a few months,

I decided not to have this therapy, seemed it might be too painful for me, personally, and @ £70 / hour, I felt the costs were excessive, to say the least.

I continue to use CBT, emotional IQ, NLP, relaxation techniques, omega 3s, good nutrition, list is endless lol.

I also believe there comes a point when we have to accept, accept what life has dished out to us, and let all the feelings go. Too much therapy, analysing, can prohibit your day to day life.

Hi Lisa

I not surprised with your financial outlay. The 2nd question my 'potential' therapist for this program asked me was, 'what was my financial status' !

To be fair, I did practice the technique with myself, it was weird to keep running it backwards and forwards in my mind. I did not feel any real relief, it just reminded me of all the pain.

To say this is a cure, is a little stretch of the imagination. For me, having faced my mortality at 17.5 yrs old in a motorcycle accident, the only 'cure' would to go back in time & not ride down that road, that evening.

It will never leave me, I am now 43. But, I do have an education now, an understanding of PTSD and what happened to me that night. I have an array of techniques that I use to keep me on even keel now.

Hi David,

Very well said. I was given a cd to take with me also to practice the technique, which i did for a few days before giving in.

I could not see the point in going over backwards and forward all that had happened to me in my life, raking over things i no longer think about or dwell on.

I think the past is the past and it's how we see things now that matters rather than going over and over the bad times!!
