I started a new drug and find they have made me more anxious today... should I continue???

I havent been prescribed this med in the past but what i do know is when first starting most anti-depressents you usually find your anxiety heightens before things start to settle down which usually takes around 2 weeks, so i would stick with them and see how things go. If you do have any concerns i would have a word with your GP for reasurrence.

Exactly as honeybee says re antidepressants.The particular one you have been prescribed I was tried on.It didnt touch the anxiety for me.have you started on 25mg?Starting on small doses of anti-depressants can help your body get use to them and for me lessens that heightened anxiety one gets when starting them.

Some antidepressants make you feel more anxious until they build up in you body. But It usually only lasts for about a fortnight, so I'd stick with them, or you could ask your gp to prescribe some tranquilizers for a couple of weeks?
