A sense of relief to find this forum

Hello all,
I am 28 years old suffering from anxiety and panic attacks the last 4 years. It all started when i met my ex. He was a very abusive boyfriend who scared me to the point of crying everyday and worried constantly that i would do something to anger him. I finally left him (after the help of a psychologist and medication). Now, months later I am still not my self. I have nightmares that he is back in my life. I get anxiety about little things and feel hard to socialise. I want to feel calm and myself again. It felt a sense of relief to find this forum. It appears that no one understand how it is to feel this way.
