got to doctors

This morning I had an appointment with the nurse for a smear test,my first smear test. I was really anxious getting ready,feeling sick,dry mouth,dizzy and even thinking to myself you not going to do it,but then kind of thought you can do it,you went into bodycare yesterday(first time in bout 3yrs) only 5mins but still did it even with having same symptoms and nothing bad happened,and being with a nurse is probably the best person you could be with if I did have a really bad pa. Managed to get to the doctors,felt really sick on the drive there,felt even more sick when i got in the doctors but by now my heart was starting to race as well,had a drink of my water but still felt really hot,I said to my partner I want to go,dont feel well at all,but I didnt I just stood by the door so I could get some fresh air,which really helped,then the nurse called me in,still feeling very nervous but once I got in there and explained to the nurse that I was very nervous and suffered with panic/anxiety attacks,I felt abit better. the nurse was really great and made me feel really comfortable. I justed wanted to share my good news,sorry for going on just cant believe I finally got there and got it done! take care leah xxxx :D

Not only should you be proud of yourself for getting through the smear but you are also challenging the negative thoughts you are having and putting yourself out there when you are feeling bad which are all good things in combatting the anx.
