I started on 5mg of "real" cipramil yesterday.All was pretty ok until last night.First I couldnt sleep with the uneasy anxious feeling in my stomach.When I did eventually sleep the dreams were ultra weird and scary.

I thougt today no way I'm taking 10 mg of this stuff stay with 5mg and see how it goes today.Oh what fun.

anxiety weird strange you name it.

I had to go back to bed and when I did sleep the dreams were even more odd.

I checked with the pharmacy and did a bit of googling and apparently generic(cheaper versions) and brand name drugs can be quite different especially antidepressants.

So the 5mg of citrol(generic citalopram) I have been taking most likely does vary from the brand name cipramil(actually yes it does)

I'm not particulary pleased with my doctor as she must know about this difference between generic and brand name drugs.perhaps its not an issue for many but for me its significant. she could have said something.

the generic is much cheaper thats why gPs give them,we are asuured they are he same but much evidence says they arent
