Hi all - as a "newbie" it's so comforting to find a place where other people understand your anxieties! I've had a couple of "episodes" of health anxiety which have lasted 9-15 months each time and I had to go back to my GP last week as my demons have returned.
I've had a series of headaches, (which I believed was a brain tumour) and I now have a small ulcer in my mouth (and the headaches have stopped now I'm worrying about sth else!). My lovely, and v supportive GP, has told me that there is nothing in my mouth that she is worried about, but of course cos it hasn't healed immediately I am convincing myself of worst case scenario. Logically I know that if I left it alone it would heal quicker but the obsessive fear is always there..........this is grinding me down and am feeling very tearful.......is this normal?
