Sorry for posting again after I posted earlier today, but I am so worried.

I did 2 night shifts this week (11pm - 7am)for the first time, Monday and Tuesday nights. I wasn't able to sleep before my first shift and then only got 4 hours sleep the next day before my next shift. The work involved standing for a long period of time and alot of arm movement, packing and making boxes. Wednesday I was very tired and went and did yoga Wednesday night which I probably should of missed being so tired.

Anyway - the last 2 days my thighs and upper right arm (I'm right handed) feel fatigued.

Could it be that this is from working and that I had never done this work before or from yoga being very tired when I did it or could it be alot more serious or could it just be another symptom of anxiety that I am going through at the moment.

I have almost snapped out of the worry I was having over this.

After sitting down and really thinking about it, the fatigue is just above the knee not the thigh and I am pretty sure it is from standing for the long periods as I was having alot of knee pain and stiffness whne working.

Hopefully the silly thoughts do not come back!!

Oh Deb your thread sounds almost exactly like one I wrote a while ago!

I think you've probably stretched yourself in Yoga. I've felt very achey after Yoga, especially when I've done a class following night shifts.

If you're standing a lot then you're quite likely to feel achey too.

I'm sure a few good nights (or days) sleep will help you feel better

Thankyou Dying_Swan,

It is very reassuring that someone else has felt the same.

I actually don't feel achey, but heavy in knees, back and arm.

Hey Deb.

I think you can still attribute the feeling to nights and Yoga! Night shifts can make you feel bloody awful, in all sorts of ways. Your body isn't used to having to work at that time, so exerting energy, and particularly standing in one position is bound to make you feel a bit dodgy.

I find the particular effects of nights are huge cake cravings followed by wanting to vomit, and having lots of wind!

Hope you are feeling better now

Hi Dying_Swan,

I am feeling heaps better today thankyou. Arm and knees are feeling alot better. I didn't realise how night shift can affect you so much. I had trouble eating as I was all out of whack and I am still finding that I am not that hungry during the day. I am never working nights again!!!

Thankyou for your responses as you have brought relief to my worries.
