hi im a new member and had no idea sites lyk this were avaliable. you have all helped me immensely, helping me 2 realise that im not alone in my crazyness!!!!! ive spent the last 2 years convinced that i had hiv, no matter how many tests i have i always return to the fact that i have it. i dont, but as you all know there are always reasons why i think the tests are wrong. my friends and boy friend are amazing but they just dont understand the pure panic i feel. the worst part ov it is that i have a psychology degree and have all the books and understanding needed to be able to drag myself out ov this, but i carnt. i feel lyk im going crazy and i know i need proper help but as im waiting to be taken on as an ass psychologist i carnt coz they ask 2 c ur medical records. since finding u all however i no longer feel so alone in my dark moments so thankyou all, and hopefully u will help me when i get hiv again! lol. x

Your title made me chuckle - it sounded slightly accusing! I know what you mean about understanding it all and still not being able to do anything to stop it - I'm exactly the same. I'm thinking of retraining to be a psychologist - would my depression and anxeity count against me then?! I think you'll be all the better a psychologist for your understanding of what it is like- empathy is a marvellous thing. You can tell when a professional knows what you are going through. I once had a doctor who had suffered health anxiety!!

Hopefully you won't 'text speak' to your patients, though...sorry it's the teacher in me!:winks:

no it dsnt count against u but ive been advised not 2 seek professional help till i get the job, coz they dont want sumone that has had 15 hiv tests, told she is fine and still wakes up in the middle of the nite convinced that she has it! lol. and no i will not "text speak" to my patients! lol. they will be max security convicts however. i so feel lyk im going crazy sumtimes, apart from the hiv i also have checking ocd which is a pure nitemare. its horriable isnt it! x
