My dizziness is still really bad and with it I'm getting a feeling as though I'm constantly moving. It's kind of like being on a boat and bobbing up and down or backwards and forwards. It makes me feel quite faint sometimes and as though I will fall over.

I was just wondering if anyone else gets this. I seem to have it 24/7 and am so worried. Is this anxiety?

Hi Jules

It could be anxiety or it could be an inner-ear infection - this causes you to lose your balance and feel dizzy. It is easily cured - see your doctor for his diagnosis.

It's not an inner ear infection. Have had it for months and months but it's worse now. Dr said it's anxiety before but I have a hard time believing. Just wondered if any one else got it and it was anxiety. It never seems to ease for me even when I'm calm.

Jules,

I had this for a few days (I was feeling quite stressed at the time) and I can honestly it is one of the worst anxiety symptoms i have experienced. All I can say is that it went away when i was not so stressed. have you tried some relaxation methods??

Jules

Sorry to put a downer on things but I had the dizziness for years. It was relentless and I always felt dizzy. They sent me to see a neurologist, and ear specialist and numerous doctor's visits.

Mine just went as I got used to the panic and anxiety and gradually I only felt it occasionally. Nowadays I only get it when I am overtired or stressed.

There is no easy answer to it I am afraid apart from all the relaxation exercises that are recommended on this site and the breathing techniques.

It took me a long time to accept it was panic cos it was there all day every day so I know how you feel.

You must keep going and try to practice relaxation. In time it will subside.

Hi Jules ,

This is really common and is often complained about as being so difficult to shift.

How much exercise and or real relaxation are you managing to do. Some people said it shifted when they changed their pace and either did vigorous exercise or deep relaxation.
How long has it been statiic now ?

Hi Jules,

Dont worry, there is nothing serious wrong with you, It is just anxiety. I know because I used to get the exact same sensations all the time and still do to an extent. The more you worry about it the worse it will get and that will be why you feel you have it 24/7. See it for what it is and nothing more and believe me it will get less and less severe. I get it sometimes and just carry on the best I can and try not to think to much about it. Dizziness of the lightheaded type is anxiety and if the room is spinning around then thats when its a ear problem. Dont worry it will pass.

Take care.

Dizzyness... yes I have too. When I am sitting, I feel like I'm on a boat. I just started getting the anxiety disorder again after a 3 yr. hiatus!! I remember three years ago going to several drs. including an ear specialist. Went through all kinds of testing, hearing, etc. At the end of the tests the drs. says "well, I am prescribing valuim it's great for dizzyness, but nothing is wrong w/ your ears. Later I realized that he presc. me valuim for the anxiety disorder I didn't know I had but he realized it at first meeting. The dizzyness goes hand and hand I'm afraid. Try not to concentrate on it or it makes you sick!!
It really stinks.

Hi,

I am new to these boards!! i have been looking around for answers as to my problems.

I have a few questions in addition to feeling dizzy which for me is intermitent I also feel off balance. Its a horrid sensation that I am not entirely steady and it freaks me out. It is there 24/7.

Can u relate to this? I also get the intermitent feeling that either i or the room is moving a little it can almost make me feel disorientated and not sure exactly were I am in space.

I can also feel like the ground is bouncing a little and my balance then feels worse which will then trigger me to feel like I am going to pass out. Which I never ever have done!

Please reply I am sooooooooo desperate to hear from others in the same mess as me.

Thanks

Meg

Good for you for never passing out- very few people indeed ever do ! Join the club. Most all of us have felt it at some point - some 24/7 some less. It is a very common symptom and like all the rest passes as you deal with he issues and your adrenals heal and you gain control and confidence again.

The seasick feeling is also common and so is the off balance feeling.

The way out is not to pay any attention to it and go about your daily business ( hard I know)and practice deep relaxation.

It's to do with holding your tension within you. Some people have got relief from massage - full back, shoulder , head and neck massage.

That's such great news Sarah....
I'm so pleased for you.

That's why keeping a diary can be sooo helpful, if you're in this alone and have to do your own monitoring and motivating.

Occassionally my partner used to say - wow you've not complained of XXX for ages - it was great to be able to say - thats because it's gone !!

He had moments of extreme helpfulness but lots of plodding and playing the ' less said the better ' tack too. I know some people are in this mostly by themselves and it's harder to keep cheerful and motivated.

Thats when we come in useful !!!

Hi, I found this message by doing a search. I was looking for any posts about numbness in the back of the throat. I am having a rough time. Don't y'all just hate it when a new symptoms pops up? I mean now that I know just how common chest pains are, I just streatch and go on about my day when one hits. Knowing it has been survived by someone else is so very powerful for me.
So tonight I was playing a board game with my children, and I noticed that when I would swallow the back of my thorat or the back of my tongue would feel numb/tingley (sp?) I cannot decide if it is the throat or the tongue. I thought it was a hair as I have a long hair cat and two long hair dogs. So I looked in the mirror to check on it, saw nothing and so I gargled a bit and still nothing. I have allergies and sometimes I have moderate post-nasal drip so I figured it would go away soon. But I still have it and I also am having to contend with the scary thoughts of (Oh, I am having a stroke to Oh, I have throat cancer) and the adryenalin (sp?) they provoke in my body. It is bed time and I feel so very very alone. The odd thing is that I can remember thinking to myself that since I had had a couple of problems sleeping last night, (scary thoughts and mild panic a couple of times during the night)I was wondering what if anything scary would happen tonight. I was hoping that I would be able to go to bed early so I would feel more rested. Anyway, in the time I have been searching here for this subject/symptom, it has gotten better and I have not yet died from it so I guess I will be ok. Still very spookey though. I bet that y'all can relate. Thanks for listening. If anyone can give me an explanation for this I would appreceate it as I will probably obsess on it for several days. Thanks in advance.
God Bless you and yours
Debbie

Hi

Have you had your eyes checked recently?

I have very slight far sight and when I'm not wearing my contact lenses I often feel off balance, like things round me are moving or I am moving, I suddenly jerk myself to stop from falling over when I'm not actually falling anyway.

Best Regards
