Benadryl and Anxiety?

I've been taking benadryl to get to sleep at night and have noticed its been helping with my anxiety?:huh: Has anyone else every experienced this?

It's not intended as an anxyiolitic but the sedating qualities might be helping because it's keeping you calm.
Did you buy it over the counter as Nytol or was it prescribed by your Doc ?

It has the exact opposite effect on me. I would be up all night with my heart pounding and feeling super anxious. Funny how our bodies are all so different!
