My first post. Suffered my first attack three weeks ago after a nightmare, no pains or worrying about health, more about events that havnt happened but even though i know this it still didnt help. 2 days of going out of my mind so i saw the doctor and have been Diagnosed with Panic disorder and prescribed flouxetine.

then 2 weeks absolutely fine except for the background worry that i am losing my mind and another attack.

Last week started suffering the health worries and insomnia, ended up in A&E absolutely knackered and now have Sleeping tablets plus Diazepam for emmergencies which i havnt yet taken.

Im sure im suffereing the side effects of the flouxetine whilst i wait for the good effects to kick in.

Just wish i could stop the monkey chatter, everything else i can deal with

Hi Threesixzero...:welcome: to NMP, you have come to the right place for 'monkey chatter' lol, and i don't think there is anyone on the site who hasn't worried that they are cracking up at least once either :scared15: , so in short you have found people who understand what you are going thru and willl do everything they can to help.
......you may well be right about the fluxotine having some side effects tho... i have recently started on Citalopram (also and SSRI) and the first week on it my HA and general anxiety went thru the roof... but im glad to say that it has now settled down (week 3) and i am actually feeling loads better :yahoo: , so hang in there for a bit longer and i am sure you will reap the rewards.... you can PM me anytime if you want to vent or just got some monkey chatter to get off your chest....Take Care and keep posting

Welcome to the site, everyone here is so helpful and friendly, I also suffer from panic attacks and depression I have taken those tablets and I did get some side effects, but Im now on zispin which help me alot.

Thanks for the wlecome guys. Just a had a good couple of days which either means that my meds are working or that this issue has phases.

Weekends are the toughest time as i have more time to think.
