My anxiety "was" making me ruminate over problems...
"talk", "talk", and "talk" inside my mind...

Last week I was reading a book titled Oh Mind Relax Please.
A technique mentioned in the book is to not vocalize your
emotions in the mind and to just experience them as
experience. Be detached from the feeling of anger, anxiety
etc and just observe the mind. This instantly frees us from
the anxiety and anger and it immediately diffuses into
nothing.

Mind becomes more clear and happiness fills the mind.
Remember do not vocalize in the mind the emotions, just
live them. just experience them. You would therefore not be
prolonging the emotion and you would learn to let it pass.

All the best to all of you. The book that I am referring to
is by an Indian Author Swami Sukhabodhananda. His collection
of books are all relaxation books presented for layman with out
using the terms "disorder", "mental illness" etc.... Actually
every human being experiences anxiety, but only in different
degree, so really its not a disorder.

Practise does help certainly...

So right! I'm trying this approach but sometimes that little voice within demands to be heard and have a debate.I'm sure the calm will come with practice.

I will give you an example. Take a newspaper and read it. While reading, on your mind are you vocalizing every word that you read? Note this and then try doing the following

repeat xyz xyz xyz on your mind and try reading again, this time with the mind, with out the word, directly from eye to the mind.

Its similar to this. You can feel anxious, its ok, but do not vocalize it. Do not start saying things on your mind, like what if this happens, then let me do that. But if this happens let me do that etc....

If you hold a glass of water for a min, its not pain, but if the same glass of water, if you have to hold it for 24 hrs with out putting down, its a great pain. By vocalizing and talking in your mind, you in advertantly keep the glass of water for longer there by making the mind tired. If you do not vocalize and just feel the experience, just live it and move on, there will be happiness in the mind.
