Since Leaving College I Have Been Having Counceling Witch I Feel Has Helped Me Cope With My Pa ( Abit)
But I Find It Really Hard To Find A Job And Being Stuck At Home Can Really Get Me Down Some Times....
I Have Tryed Home Jobs But Because Im Only 17 I Carnt Be Insured To Do That Kind Of Job ( I Have Been Told)
So I Was Just Wondering If There Was Any One That Could Give Me Some Advise Or Even Any One Who Knows Where I Could Get A Home Job At My Age

xestelle,

I'll be deadly honest with you, not to upset you, but just to be honest with you. I run a recruitment company so I have some experience.

1) Your chances of getting a home-based job are little-to-non-existent. Very few *genuine* home-based jobs exist, lots that do are often scams, and those that aren't are normally highly specialist.
2) I don't think having a home job would help. I think getting a job - however hard that may seem - would help a lot, lot more.

Good luck!

Hey hun

I think you have to break this down into small, manageable chunks.

OK so your ultimate goal is to become a driving instructor, but when you think of that you have all these other thoughts in your mind about having to do the lessons, the money it costs and "how on earth can I afford them when you have no job?"! Then your mind ends up in a

Even if it was possible for you to get a home job, I think working outside of home would help you, as daunting as it might seem. It will help you build confidence, and I think interaction with other people really helps to build peoples' self-esteem.

Have you looked for jobs that are near to home at all? Maybe an office job as a trainee? Part-time hours?

You dont want to throw yourself into a stressful job as that wont help, but take things one step at a time. You can keep your ultimate goal of becoming a driving instructor but concentrate your efforts on achieving your first "sub-goal" if you like - finding some work to get you some money.

You can do it honey :hugs:

Hi Estelle.
I just wanted to say how much I relate to your situation.
I'm 16, and I dropped out of college last year too due to my anxiety and PA's.
I'm now looking for a job and finding it awfully hard.
And staying at hme is too making me bored and upset.
So at least you know your not alone :)

http://www.homeworking.com/ If you are serious about working from home its not easy and takes alot of hard work check out site its probably best site ever seen for home working.
Being 17 that is so young there are so many possiblities out there dont rush into anything.
Have been looking for work for over an year now including working from home and its really not easy atall.
Dont matter how hard it seems theres always someone worse off!

Take care

Hi Estelle

I used to suffer with Agorophobia and my local job centre where brilliant. They have a diability section for people who have problems getting a job. After a chat with them they asked what i would like to do(i told them office work) they arranged for me to do a 6 week (2 day a week) computer course and at the end of it i was offered a receptionist job !, i didnt take the job though because it was full time and only wanted part-time work. The course was brilliant though it really boosted my confidence, and i never looked back really.

why not give them a ring and explain your sittuation they may just be able to help you too hun.

:hugs:

Hiyaaa

I find Tht i Can Relate to Ur situtation Alot!
I used to Suffer Frm Bad Panic attacks In Yr6 And 8...I gradullay Got Over Them by the Tym i Had finished Skwl... Im Now in my 1st yr at 6form && i Found Tht My Panic attacks Have Came Back Outa no Where... I find That Wen i Strt 2 Fink About my Future It Causes me Alot of Stress and Worry, The 4t of gettin a Job on My Own is terrifying... I find that i Cant go no Where On my Own and hate it being on My own, Its frustrating and difficult,

What got me over it before was that when i started to Worry i Would say to my self i will deal with it later or wen the time comes. This enabled me to forget about it.. And i then had to face my fear no matter what, Facing the problem is alot better than running, even though it seems 10x harder to do...
Im still having P.A but they normally occur when Change happens (gettin a job, exams, meeting new people)

I hope you get over panic attacks =] and that you find a job!,
All the best x
