I use to panic 5 to 7 times a day, every day for the last 8 months, couldn't work, couldn't hard leave my room, never left the house even for groceries.
MY GP had me first on rememron with risperdal, then cipralex with riperdal, then trazadone, then seroquel....nothing was working
I will mention he was giving me .5 ativan for the panic that kinda worked. and at one point .5 and 1 mg Clonanzpam during this time for the panic which just kinda worked....
CBT didn't work shit....
But then finally after I got to see the psychiatrist after 8 months and waiting and he cured me....
He told i was in a vicious cycle and up my Benzos HARD.....2mg of Clonazpam three times a day, and then 75mg of Effexor to eventually go up to 150mg....
OMG, i'm feel cured, i know i'm not but i feel it....
The reason i'm telling you all is because most GP will just give enough Benzos to maybe manage the panic....but might need a high dose to break the cycle...
My life is 95% but to normal but the brince of suicide.....I'm happy again....
