low back pain

Have anyone had a really bad lower back pain before? The kind where you have difficulty standing up and straightening your back. I have had stiff back before but nothing like this, it started yesterday and it's scary. I have just returned from chiropractor, he massaged it a bit, put a few needles, and told me a few things to do, said it is just muscles. But it's the difficulty moving that makes me panicky.

Sometimes you can get a bulging disc which can cause the lower back muscles to go into spasm. If it is this, it usually clears up in about a week.
