Medication for GAD?

Hello, i'm going to see my doctor on Monday cos i'm very certain i have GAD, and have done for some years, so i was wondering how long it takes to be diagnosed (but obviously everyone's different), and what kind of medication my doc will put me on?

If you tell your doc that you're feeling anxious and/or depressed, your doc will offer you anti-depressants but if you're feeling bad, I would suggest you ask your doc about therapy so you can get on the waiting list because in the long run, therapy will be the better option.
