switching from prozac to effexor

hiya..
I mainly suffer from anxiety and mild depression and was started on fluoxetine/prozac 20mg - took it for about 5 weeks and was queasy to start with, lost loads of weight and had the shakes.. my doc thought i shouldn't have been put on them in the first place and has changed me to effexor/venlafaxine. I had 2 days without anything (when i felt strangely calm!) and now been on effexor 75mg for 5 days.. do you know if I have to wait weeks again for them to start to work and even if they do start to work, how long does it take for you to feel 'normal' again? sorry, i'm a bit new to this pill taking malarchy. Oh and please dont say anything bad about effexor as I'll only worry even more!

I'm afraid it will take a while to kick in. It's hard to say how long as it depends on the person as well as the med. I hope you start to feel the benefits soon!!

Can't tell you much about how long its gonna take for the effexor to kick in, but usually at least 4-6 weeks.
