View Full Version : My Dad is Ill
Hi all I dont normally go around asking for hugs but could use a few today
yesterday my dad collasped at work he was taken to hospital, they did some tests and a scan, they have found a tumour on his Brain, I cant stop crying, already he has become confused and doesnt know were he is or what day it is, does this usually happen so quickly???? any hugs greatly recieved

It must be really really tough for you all.
Try to think positive. Seeing Russell Watson on the tv these last few weeks talking about his struggles with 2 brain tumours and how hes survived hopefully gives you and your family some comfort at this time when you all must feel so sad.

Quick update
Dad had MRI today they have found a lesion around 2cm on his brain , they have told us it could of been there for 20 years or could be new, they have said they cant rule out cancer, but are in no rush to move him to ICU to operate, they told us if he didnt collapse, and just had headache he could of been waiting on list for up to 2 years, this has given us all some hope, thankyou all again for your continued love and support,

Dad is still in hospital, they have found a tumour we still dont know if its cancer or not, trying to keep chins up but its so hard,

hope you are felling a bit better now. its tough finding out something like that. hope all goes well with your dad and if you ever need to chat to someone even if you just want a shoudler to cry on im here. :bighug1: maybe say yes to a cup of tea make hime a bit more restful?

hi all just to let you know poor old Dad is still in hospital, they keep promising to transfer him to bigger hospital for his op but nothing has happened yet, he is becoming very anxious now but he has stopped smoking while been in there so thats good, Im going abroad on monday and feel a little guilty for leaving him but he's insisting I go, I want to thank all on here who has sent us love and support, it has helped me get through some horrible days, my love to you all,

hello all again just to let you know they transfered Dad this afternoon, he is now in a nerological unit in Hull, they meant to be good hospital, think they gonna operate tomorrow or friday, ill keep you posted, my love and thanks again

Hello Everyone, Just to let you know Dad had his op this morning, he was in theartre about 2 hours, he was awake during the whole procedure, (brave man) listening to AC/DC. why I dont not know he doesn't even like them lol, but he requested it. by 12.30 he was back on his ward sat up in bed eating a salad, he has 2 small plasters on either side if his head, we have to wait about a week now for the results, thank you all again for your continued support, love, hugs, and understanding,

hey all Dad is coming home tomorrow, he has to go back next friday for his results, I cant wait to get him home safe, but I guess this is just the start of a journey we must face, but staying positive, things hopefully be ok, he would be overwelmed by the support you have all shown us on here, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for that

hi just reading your post, my grandpa is going thru dimensia and problems with anxiety and such. I know it's been really hard for my mom and all her brothers and sisters and for everyone. Make sure you have someone close to you to talk to who understands and keep going, i know your dad would want the best for you!

we have finally got the results and Im sorry to say its not good news, Dad has stage 4 cancer, the worse kind its deep in his brain, so its inoperable, they going to give him radio therepy but not sure if it will do any good, I havent dare ask How long, life is s**t eh?
