Hey, This is my first post on here, so forgive me if i do anything wrong. i've been suffering from anxiety for about two months now and basiclly im writing about 2 things, the first is:

1) DP. ive read previous posts on the subject and everything seems to show that what im experiencing is DP, i just want to know how long other peoples attacks of it last? Mine can last from anywhere between minutes and days. it always seems to be there however some times it is a lot stronger than others and utterly terrifies me.

Number 2) Dreams. Latley ive been having the most vivid dreams that seem so real sometimes i actually confuse them with real memories which also really scares me. Anyone have any similar problems with dreams?

If anyone could post a message it would be a great help coz im getting quite worked up about it.

Dave

Hi Dave,

1. Its a self protect/ chemical mode so is totally personal. I had mine for weeks on end and then it lifted, returned briefly at each PA and then none for years.

2. Are you on any medication as this can increase dreams and often if you're worried your dreams can get busy/ vivid as you're trying to resolve the issues subconciously, even though the dreams are unrelated in subject.

Hi Dave.

Dp is my only remaining symptom, and after having suffered many physical symptoms in the past, they don't quite compare to this.
Its a nasty symptom that really does scare us and tries to convince us that we are slowly but surely 'losing it'.
As Meg says, it is our brains way of looking after us, although I wish mine wouldn't at times![B)]
I seem to have unreal feeling all the time, but as you say, it does have its stronger moments that really get to us.
you will probably see from some of my posts that I still strugle in these bad times even now. I started with dp quite some time ago!

As for the dreams...yes, I get confused as to whether they are dreams or memories. I can wake in the morning and feel as though Im still in the dream I had the night before.
I also suffer from confused thoughts.

I think the way out of this is to try and relax and not analyse how we are feeling. Easier said than done I know, but we only end up going round in circles and getting a bad case of 'numb brain' from too intense thinking.

Please do pm or E-Mail me if you need to talk. Dont suffer alone.
