:lac: I have been having really dizzy, room spinning spells for the last week and I dont think they are related to anxiety. Anyway, I made a private appointment as I have Bupa and was all set to go tomorrow night. I spoke to gp reception on monday who said they will send referral through and when i phoned to check it was all ok I was told GP will not refer me and I am so annoyed. What skin off their nose if I go and see a specialist

i get these dizzy spells to most of the time it feels as though i am standing on a boat in really choppy seas, but other times it feels although the room is spinning, i went and had my eyes tested and to the hospital for my ears but nothing was wrong with either so my doctor has said its anxiety then i started looking on the net for symptoms for anxiety and they biggest one i have come across is dizziness so i wouldnt worry to much, have a check up to ease your worries but im sure its the anxiety.

Yeahthat,s stupid, my g.p. is very good he will refer me too. I go private and it,s my money . But i must say that we should remember that g.p,s. are just that g.p,s they are not specialist. So what,s his problem.

I didnt think you had to be referred by a GP if you go private. I always thought you called the bupa hospital or clinic in your area, made your own appointment and just went! My brother goes privately whenever he feels the nhs waiting list is too long (he has a form of ms) and i was always under the impression he sorted it all out for himself, then discussed the results with his own doctor afterwards. I never knew it had to go through a gp first. Learn something new every day!

I took my daughter for a private consultation. Didn't have a GP referral - just rang the BUPA hospital nearest us.

Well I know what you should do:

Go and see this Dr and say can you please write and sign here that the dizzy spells and sickness I am having are not life threatening and/or will not have an impact on my quality of life.

NO DR IN THE WORLD WOULD SIGN THAT OFF, SO THEN SAY GIMME A REFERAL RIGHT NOW!:shades:

HOWWWZAAAT MR DR!!!!!
