I have been seeing a counsellor for a few months, originally for OCD tendencies but loads of cans of worms seem to be opening!! My Mum is an alcoholic, she has been off drink for about 9 months but in the past couple of weeks she has been having some stressful times and resorted to wine on a daily basis, from when she wakes up to when she goes to bed :(

My older brother who I used to be very close to seems to be depressed but he thinks counselling either wont help or is too expensive (he saw someone last yr but after a while he didnt feel it was helping so maybe thinks the same thing will happen if he tries again?) He hates his job but worries if he leaves/changes career he will never be employed again, then become a burden to family & then become homeless (he is an extreme worrier!) He doesnt socialise with anyone apart from a few work things which he usually moans about anyway.
I am just at a loss, I hate seeing them unhappy but know I cant solve their problems (my counsellor has suggested that I have control issues and dont like uncertainty).
It has also transpired recently that I have separation anxiety, which is not good as my Mum goes on holiday for a fortnight tomorrow! :weep: I dont know who/if anyone I can share this with without feeling weird.

If you have got this far, thanks for reading!
Any suggestions/ideas will be gratefully received
