LHC in August-Thoughts?

Hello-I have recently read about the Large Hadron Collider some people claim will end the world when it starts up in August. I don't really think it will anymore but, was very sick for about a week unable to sleep and eat. Just curious what others that have heard of it think??

I think scientists are mental and get carried away with possibilities and ignore the dangers. It's nothing new.

I doubt it'll destroy the universe though mate. Humans aren't that powerful to my knowledge.

They ran it up a few days ago to see if it's set up properly, but haven't ran any real tests yet.

They might actually discover something totally amazing about reality doing this. It could be one of those moments when peoples world view changes forever. Or it could be a complete waste of money! hahaha

Do you know much about physics then? I think if it goes wrong, the worst thing that'll happen is it'll go on fire and be destroyed, but nothing spectacular. No demonic portals hopefully! lol
