Hi Everyone
My husband has just found this site.
I have suffered with Panic Attacks, Anxiety, & Agrophobia on & off for about 20 years. I have been on prescribe drugs which at the time did ease my situations, but never really got down to the actual root causes. Having read some of the posts on this site it is a relief to find people in the same boat as me, and to finally realise that I am not a raving looney & there will be light at the end, of what seems to have been a very very long tunnel over the last eight months.
We moved house at christmas & even though this added to my stress & anxiety, I have registered with a new doctor. The practice has a specialised mental health team, I have seem the main man twice, had an assesment & am just waiting for my first appointment with the mental health nurse practitioner. In the mean time I have bought " Overcoming Anxiety. A Five Areas Approach" (By Dr. Chris Williams) It is a workbook, & explains everything in laymans terms (which is brilliant when your mind is in a mush) Again I am beginning to see that one day, maybe not just yet, that I will be able to go to the supermarket on my own, I will have a meal out in a restaurant with my family, I will be able to drive to work on the M62 to work on my own & not depend on my hubby. These are my targets, goals what ever you want to call them, but at least now I know I am not on my own in my own little bubble of shame (because I think people think I'm not right in the head)
Thanks for listening thats all for now Di.
