hi
recently I have been feeling that i cant go out places, this morning even taking my daughter to nursery seems too hard. my husband wanted to go shopping to bluewater (which is about an hours drive from here) on the weekend and i actually cried at the thought of going. I have a midwife appointment on friday and i just cant face going. Everytime I go out i feel dizzy and sick and like i just cant make it where i am going.
i know that the doctor wont do anything because i have only just seen a counsellor about my panic attacks which didnt help at all and I am pregnant.
what can I do http://www.netmums.com/coffeehouse/images/smilies/icon_sad.gif at the moment it doesnt even seem worth waking up because everything is such a struggle. I am ashamed that my daughter keeps missing her nursery places (which we paid for already!) because i cant walk literally 5 mintues down the road with her.
I know it sounds really stupid but cant seem to get things under control anymore.

Hi Sophie,

If you are not going out because of your pregnancy and you are feeling uncomfortable, that is fair enough but if it is because you are panicking i urge you to go back to your docs and insist on being referred to try and get things sorted. I know exactly how you feel - there are days when I cant take my son to school and its only 5 mins away. Maybe keep trying to go out even for 5-10 mins a day with your husband or a friend xx

hi
I feel fine as far as the pregnancy goes I am only 8 weeks pregnant so feel pretty normal apart from a bit sick now and then. I might go back to the doctors although i never seem to get my point across very well to him!

thanks

It is really hard to explain how you are feeling - even to GP's as they are not specialised. Maybe if you write a list and take it with you and get your husband to go with and just ask to be referred maybe to psycholgist - xx

Sophie, none of what you say makes you sound stupid. Many of us here can relate to how you're feeling, myself included. I don't doubt being pregnant is also going to effect the way you feel and behave too.

It can be difficult explaining just how we feel but I agree with Bab regarding her comments about seeing your GP again. Just copy down what you've written in this thread and read that, but do make sure you don't punish yourself for feeling stupid or anything like that. You deserve to feel the best you can so bother these people until you the help you need.

Good luck Sophie and keep in touch with us all here as to your progress. :)

hi hun

im not pregnant and experience exactly the same symptoms as u display.

getting out can be terribly hard when u are sacred.

at one point i wouldnt leave the house, i couldnt drive, answer the front door or phone.

but slowly with help from my gp and the hospital, and most of all support from nmp i am now going to places with trusted friends and family.

i still get wobbly going somewhere stressful by my slef, and would never go somewhere new without somwone with me, but it can be done.

please go back to ur gp, take a script of what u want to say, or show him so hes aware of ur feelings and fears.

he may be able to refer u for more help.

please keep posting hun
