Hello,
I just thought i would introduce myself and am hoping that maybe people will be able to offer advice or support. My first anxiety symptoms reared their ugly head about 4 years ago when i had just completed my first year of university. The main problem i have had throughout is a feeling of dizziness or that i am being pulled over to one side when i am walking which causes me to stop and start walking again or to grab onto something and panic! I have suffered other symptoms but these are the main ones that continually bother me. It is preventing me from doing normal things on my own-like going shopping- although i do try when i am feeling brave! I do have a full time job and am managing OK but i am a support worker and i get scared when i have to take the residents out or am asked to go out to run errands as I know i will have no choice in the matter. I feel as if im not the carefree person i once was and the only way for me to even try to have a night out is to have a few drinks beforehand! I have been on cipramil twice before but i am not currently taking any medication. I had a brain scan, and ECG's a couple of years ago and they turned out to be fine but i cant help being scared. Has anyone else had the symptom of feeling as if they are being pulled over to one side when they walk because i find this very strange and extremely uncomfortable. I also feel a constant pressure in my head and it feels almost like a headrush.
Sorry to be so long-winded!

hello Em,

Welcome to the forum!! :)

I used to have that feeling of my head being pulled to one side all the time. I had just started meds at the time and I was never sure if it was a side-effect of the meds or the anxiety..

Everyone here is very friendly and I'm sure you'll get loads of help and support!!

Hi Em

Welcome aboard the forum.

I had the dizziness feeling for many years and then it went in time. You need to learn how to do correct breathing as this will help with the dizziness. There is something on the website about abdominal breathing so give that a go.

Hope we can be of some help to you.

Nicola

Hi Em

Just been reading your post and thought that sounds just like my symptoms!. I get hurrendous headaches everyday its like pressure on top of my head and then I get very dizzy and also completley exhausted!. I sometimes feel like its a struggle to keep my head up!. Ive been thinking about trying accupuncture the NHS do it and its very cheap compared to the specialist clinics, I am not on medication either...X

Emmie - this could be a post from one of our members who is currently away on honeymoon . She describes exactly as you do, the unstable walking, the pulling , the pressure in head etc

I'm sure she'll be able to comment further but here is her latest post from honeymoon so there is a better time ahead for you

There's hope for us all (http://www.nomorepanic.co.uk/showthread.php?t=3257)

Its amazing what a sense of relief just reading your replies has given me! Although i knew other people suffered with anxiety, i have never had the chance to talk to people with similar symptoms.
Sarah, Nicola and Kirsty- although i wouldnt wish these feelings on you-it was reassuring to know that you have had similar experiences and that im not alone in this. I too have considered acupuncture- does anybody know if this is useful?
Meg, I read the message from the lady on her honeymoon and it brought a smile to my face! She is more similar to me than you thought because i have wanted to go to the maldives for ages! lol
Thank you for sharing this with me

Hello all

I just thought that I would introduce myself before I start finding my way arround the forum. I hope that you will all be able to help me.

To cut a very very long story short, I have not felt well for 6 years. It went undetected for a while (surprise surprise) and I will fill all the parts in a a later stage, but could you all just help with the main thing that is causing me a lot of upset at the moment.

It is my heart. All day long 24/7 I can feel my heart pounding not only in my chest but right rom my feet into my gums. Sometimes it is fast and sometime normal but very loud and I can often see my t shirt moving with the ofrce of it.

I was sitting watching TV last night and all of a sudden it shot to 120 beats per minuite. This always seems to be very common after I have eaten.

Has anyone ever or has now this same feeling. and I know its awful to say but I hope someone does as I feel so alone.

Thankyou for your time.
