Hello everyone.

I was wondering if anyone felt like sharing any obscure or funny tips for coping with symptoms. For example, my doctor looked at me like I was an alien the other day when i told him that sometimes I feel like I can't breathe, especially when my stomach is bloated, and by actually grabbing the top of my belly and pulling on it it makes me feel like everything opens up and I can breathe again! I asked him, "is it possible that my stomach bloats, puts pressure on my diaphram, and by pulling on my skin I'm getting my stomach off of something?"

OMG the look on his face! He's looked at me like I'm crazy before but not quite like this. He said, "if it helps, do it. Not everything can be explained."

So anyway that's mine. If you have something to share, I'll try anything. I can't look any sillier than walking around a carnival pulling my belly fat up to my sternum.

I dont think thats wierd at all. We all have our coping skills. Mine is to listen to my head phones and blast Lynyrd Skynyrd and walk in a circle till it passes. I look crazy out in public, but I dont care. My family is used to it and get a lugh out of the people who stare. I say do what makes you feel good, because we have so few moments of goodness...:shades:

Hi hun :D:hugs:

I have learned lots from this great site, YES I know if I can take the fear away form panic, it stops, but, when I was acute, this was NOT easy.

I have done some funny things to stop panic, once in a large shop, I felt the panic rise, so I stared to jump up and down, I did think, that if the men looking through the CCT (sercurity camras) were looking at me, they must have thought, I'd lost the plot :wacko::roflmao:very quickly, I imagined, they were finding me funny, but at least I gave them a laught, AND HAY, it worked, it stopped the panic, that day, hehe :yesyes:

YES, in another shop, again the panic rise, the serge, OMG, what to do, what to do, soooo, I was looking on the rails and stared talking to myself, pushing the stuff hard along the rails, feeling angry saying out loud, **ohhh come on, DO YOU WORSE, I don't care, at the end of the day, you will come AND you will go, sooo come, DO YOUR WORSE, lets get it over with" an assistand came up to me and said "are you ok maddam, can I help, the panic, had stopped, I did say to hear, "no I am fine, thank you for asking" hehe, what did I learn form this one, well, for me, If I asked panic to come, to do its worse AND REALLY mean it, tell it I am ready, I will take whatever you will give, ohhh boy, it goes, mmmm, this never worked all the time, BUT, over time, my panic's stopped.

I have allso done when I felt I could not breath, instead of stopping, which most of the time, thats what it did to me, it would stop me in my tracks. If I was out, I would start to run. Now thats ok if your on your own, but if your with somebody, they shout, "HAY, what you running for, wait for me" LOL

Sooo, yes hun, we all have things, but these are short tearm copping skill, if they work, don't knock them.

I know for me, learning all I could about panic, anxiety, AND MYSELF, learning about each symptom helps sooo much. Learning things to take the fear away form panic and symptoms helps too.

There are things you can learn about breathing right when this happens (you feel like you can;t breath) ohhh I have not looked the link up, so will go and get it,:doh:

YOU TAKE CARE
