Yes, I also feel strange numbness in my limbs. I also feel pins and needles in my arms...

The more you think about panic attacks, the worse you feel, I understand. These unwanted thoughts used to cause me to panic.

It's also normal to start panicking again after you have been 'panic-free' for a while. It happened to me as well, a panic attack took me by surprise, just when I started to think I had gotten rid of it...Oh well, I guess that's just the way this disorder works

Take care :bighug1:

This actually happened to me today. I was leaving a restaurant and when I got outside I started to feel like I was going to faint. I felt like I couldn't use my hands or like they were not there. I also felt very out of it. It was really scarey, but I forced myself to think about something else. You are not alone.

Hi burberrygirl72,:)

I also get the feelings that you describe with my hands, arms and legs. It can be so scary - especially when you get it when you're doing your cleaning etc. and you'd think that it wouldn't happen then. I have got this also when doing housework and the first few times that I had it I thought that I was taking some serious illness or even that I was going to die!! Although, I have found that now that I've realised that it's anxiety & panic that's causing it I am able to deal with it more easily. I try and think to myself: 'it's just the anxiety & panic again, I've had it before and it has never done me any harm - it will pass'.

Hope it helps to know that you're not alone in feeling like this.

All the best xx :bighug1:

Nothing to worry about, it's just anxiety. Numbness, even borderline functional paralyzis is very common, especially when you have f.ex panic disorder alongside with somatization.
Nothing terrible will happen, it's just your nervous system playing tricks on you.
Make sure you breathe deep, and not shallow, as hyperventilation can cause some numbness. Even so, it's not at all dangerous.

Oh my, I also have this from time to time... Not always but often enough to worry me at times. I also have a neck problem that contributes so that can make it worse. But yes ill feel as if i cant even opperate my hands like im not in controll. I even sit there looking at my hand forcing it to do movements almost making it even harder! I would say no im not a Dr. But it sure sounds like classic anxiety to me as well... I sure hope your feeling better and have a wonderfull stress and anxiety free day

I hope you are feeling better. What you were feeling are defintely common anxiety symptoms as you have seen by the others. It can be so scary though and hard to believe at times that anxiety can cause such symptoms.

It helps a lot to see that others have been in the same situation :)
Glad you feel better.

Let me tell me about my own experience not with numbness, but with dizziness. I was dizzy for weeks, from the moment I woke up, until the moment I fell asleep. I had a battery of tests taken, blood works, nevro, scans etc etc. No doctor was able to pinpoint what was going on, until one of them suggested seeing a psychologist.
At that point I took a lot of anti-nausea medications because I was constantly sick from my condition, I was so dizzy I had to be escorted to the psychologist - but when I came out after 45 minutes I was dizzy no more, and haven't been since. He basically told me that I was somatizing. The brain can play awfull tricks on you. He also told me he once had a patient suffering from panic disorder that was actually paralyzed in both arms. He told her this was anxiety, and gradually her arms started working again.

My point is that anxiety can mimic the weirdest physical condition - but in the end it's all about anxiety. And anxiety isn't dangerous, it's just uncomfortable!
