I think there is an element of fate or your life having some structure to it.. e.g we inherit certain traits from our ancestors etc..

BUT I do believe that our attitudes can twist and change things. E.g some with a positive approach will view or approach the very same thing totally different to someone who is negative in attitude and get a different outcome

I am a believer in treat others as you expected to be treated yourself.
