Citalopram for anxiety

Hi,
According to the prescribing information Citalopram is prescribed for depression and I was wondering if anyone has used it specifically for anxiety rather than for depression and has it helped long term.

hi i have panic anxiety did have depression but managed to overcome it 6yrs ago and i am on citalopram 30mg

I'm now on 60mg Citalopram but as you know, Decca as you've been helping me such a lot, my anxiety has returned. So I really don't know if the Cital does help with it or not :shrug:

Hi yeah I use citalopram purely for my anxiety and yes it has helped .
I started on 20mg but after a rough patch I upped to 30mg .

i was changed from tricyclic lofepramine prescibed for dep to citalopram to aid my anxiety disorder.

i dont feel it was as good with my dep certainly intially, but is helping anx. im on 40mg at mo

Yep, Im on it for anxiety.

Has helped wonders, am much more chilled out now.

Still on it after being on them since August last year.

Definitely have helped me.
