Hi,

I am a 43 year old male and have been suffering with GAD since about last Christmas. My anxiety at the moment is horendous. I am currently on Mertazipine to little effect. I have tried Citilopram but the side effects were horendous. My psychiatrist is going to try something else but I don't know what.

Is there any body with some success stories about any particular medication with GAD?

I am new to the site but had anxiety and panic for years (I am 42) and have tried loads of stuff. I have had medication and i think there are always some side effects - also being anxious i always managed to talk myself into all the side effects so i decided not to read them! the best things that have helped me have been relaxation, NLP, CBT, and distraction. THese things do work and there is some fantastic advice on this site. Best of all is you can get through this and have a normal life

Hello, Yes I find Citalopram does make me feel slightly better, less anxious.
