Hi all

My name is Kerry I was diagnosed with severe anxiety last week but have been suffering since May when I started with panic attacks, I am feeling pretty awful at the moment was prescribed medications last week but stopped taking it as it was making my symptons worse, I worry all the time cancer is my biggest fear even though my doctor has confirmed I am ok I can still convince myself thats what my chest pains and back ache are. I have found this site really helpful so far just reading everyones post made me cry when I realised I am not alone is is so easy to think everyone has a perfect life but you I have read so much info and it is helping me so much am waiting to see a counseller at the moment and am hoping it we help me but till then I will have to keep on taking each day as it comes :)

Hi Kerry and welcome to the site, hope we can help, when I first went on medication I felt worse, this can happen with some, perhaps its worth checking with your GP if this is a side effect of yours, take care.xx

Hi Kerry,
Just thought I would say hello. I,m new to this forum but not new to anxiety.
I have had generalized anxiety disorder since I was 9 years old, now I am 47.
Been unable to work since 1994. I have been prescribed most types of medication
Activan,Valium, seroxat and lots of others. I try to cope without medication now, using meditation and other alternative therapies.
I have also discovered that I am a very spiritual person and have only recently realized
that this was missing from my life.
take care

Tony
