Hi! I am new to this site and can't believe, and am now so relieved what I have read. I suffered what was initially diagnosed as Labrynthitis (infection of the inner ear) on May 22nd of this year and have been living with what now seems to be panic attacks since then. After several trips to my GP who basically said he didn't know what was wrong with me as I had too many syptoms he reluctantly referred me to a private specialist. After an MRI scan he too has washed his hands and now referred to me to a balance disorder clinic. Spiritual Accupuncture didn't help either and I thought that I was going mad.

I have read the symptoms and these have described exactly what I feel, what I have been going through and reasons why I feel like I do. I have cut and pasted and am now going straight back to the GP tomorrow with the evidence. I feel so let down by the Medical proffession that I have been living with this for the past three months and no one has helped or even come up with PA.

Thank you so much.

Matt

Evening Matt

Its very reassuring isn't it to comprehend what others are also going through with labrynthitis.
I got struck down by this back in Feb now at a wedding and didn't have a clue what was going on with me. I had made several trips to the docs who dismissed it as anxiety & stress due to my job every time. It was until a doctor i work with diagnosed me at work.
I researched the virus and straight away i thought oh my that's what i have been suffering with. I took my ideas back to my own GP who said oh yes he may be 'correct'..it may be labrynthitis which was when i got prescribed the stemetil to control the symptoms i had.

I hope that this site and others have clarified the connection to panic & anxiety. I too was so pleased to read its related. I since have suffered with health anxiety as a result of the labrynthits.....very annoying as i was relatively normal before & certainly never worried about my health.

I hope it goes well with your GP.

Nicola

Thanks to those that have posted :welcome: .

Just to let you know that I went to the Dr's who said that he thought that I was having PA's all along! I have been prescribed some Beta Blockers and have been reading other tips from the site on how to deal with PA's.

I also managed to drive a 45 mile round trip on my own, the first time in ages and although wanted to stop, didn't. Bit of a wrek when I got home though!
