Does alcohol make your dizziness worse or better?

Last night I had a glass of wine for the first time in two months. I've had a virus and have been avoiding it till now. I've also had vertigo for several weeks so wasn't sure what effect alcohol would have. Turns out it made the dizziness/on a boat feeling twice as bad - I may never drink again! It seems logical: dizzy from vertigo + dizzy from alcohol = more dizzy. But I have seen several threads where people say that alcohol actually damped their dizziness down.

Today I feel pretty dreadful - the vertigo is bad and I have a headache.

What do other people find with vertigo/dizziness? Alcohol worse or better?

OK the more I read my post the stupider it sounds. Of course excessive alcohol makes everyone feel dizzy.

I suppose what I meant was: does the fact that, for some people, a glass or two of wine makes them less dizzy mean that their dizziness is caused by anxiety? Because the depressive effect of alcohol on the nervous system calms them down? Does the fact that it had the opposite effect on me mean that my vertigo is caused by something other than anxiety? Maybe I should post this on the HA forum...
