Sudden Lack Of Smell...........

What could it be?

i get super smell at times of stress

just wondered if anx could cause the oppoesite in some ppl?

my smell gets so enhanced that a good smell such as bread can get so strong it makes me feel sick

I completely lost my sense of smell about 4 years ago, but I did have a really bad cold and rhinitis. It came back really slowly over the next few years, though it's never been quite the same since.

Loss of sense of smell is called anosmia. Do things smell different, or can you only smell some things but not others? When my sense of smell started to come back I found that, weirdly, a lot of food and anything animal or human smelled like meat. All perfume smelled exactly the same, kind of like petrol. Lots of things I just couldn't smell at all.

There are lots of things that could cause this - as ever, if you're worried, it's best to get it checked by a doctor initially.

Can still smell, just no where near like I could before.

Really faint smell.

Feels like there is nothing in my nose, if that makes sense when I breath through it?
