Hi there,

I have had what I guess could be called "Generalised Anxiety" for the past few months.

I put myself on a combination of Vitamin D + St John's Wort + SAM-e tablets. After five weeks I gave up, they seemed to make my physical symptoms worse.

I have bought some Kava Kava on the internet and will give that a go (am aware of the risks).

The other one I have heard about is Valerian. I really need something to help me sleep and not wake up in the middle of the night - is Valerian good for this?

Does anyone else have any tips on good herbal remedies for generalised anxiety and sleeping problems?

I got on really well with Kava kava and was chuffed to find something, then they took it off the market and I'm too scared to take them now.

Be interested to hear what you think of them.

Can I ask how you took them?

I mean - in the morning, or just when you started to feel anxious, or at night before bed?

Valerian is a very good sedative,and also Passiflora

I took them one tablet a day for a month and then on a need to basis.
