Stop! Your doctor has looked at it and it is fine.

When we are anxious or scared we do get a 'lump' in our throats. It isn't a real lump just a feeling of a lump.

Now stop crying and give your boys a hug you are fine, nothing to worry about.:D

The mind is a wonderful thing--but it can also be our worst enemy! We all know this better than most, hun. The amount of times that I've read a symptom to a kind of cancer and, lo-and-behold, hours later I'm 'feeling' that symptom. I've had this same thing, as if I constantly have something stuck in my throat. I know it's easy to say, but please don't distress yourself.

First of all relax!!! Easier to say than do of course, but try!

It is very very unlikely that you have cancer of the throat. You are still very young also.

Your symptoms are classic anxiety.........feeling of lump in the throat and difficulty (or so you think) in swallowing solid food. Globus Hystericus is very very common......a search on here will prove my point. If you did have a blockage, it would of been found during the examination. Why don't you try and work you way up to solid food. Try putting some bread in the soup bowl. Then perhaps just dipping the bread into the soup and so on until you work up to something more solid.

The fact is, your constant state of panic will only tighten your throat muscle more and in turn will develop into a Catch 22 situation.

I know it is very frightening, but the fact that you have had an xray and you can swallow yoghurt does point to an anxiety state.

Welcome to the wonderfull enchanting world of Anxiety.

Kevin.

hi i was the same as you when i first started having my weird throat problems but they do improve .after i had an endoscopy an the specialist said everything was spot on it completely disapeared, but was replaced by another symptom.i still have every nowan then but because i kno its anxiety it passes alot quicker.so try not to worry im sure everything is fine an its just a build up of stress.

If you just stopped now and concentrated on your throat, swallow 3 times and we all experience what you have. Try it and you will see what i mean. Your mind is singling out your throat which in turn is making you focus on it even more and because you are doing that your mind is then creating a problem that isnt even there.
