Hi, I'm new to this site and am very glad I found it. It's nice to know that I'm not the only one who is suffering from extreme health anxiety (not that I want anyone to be suffering from this).
I'm 43 years old and about a month and a half ago I found a small hard lump above my clavicle and absolutely freaked out. The first thing I did was get my doctor to send me for a mammogram and a chest x-ray because I was sure it must be a cancer that had stemmed from someplace else. Anyway, both tests came back clear. My doctor also sent me to a surgeon to have it checked. The surgeon sent me for a CT scan which was normal. Apparently the lump was a residual somethingorother. You'd think this would have eased my mind but it didn't. I have a chronically sore tonsil on that side ... it pains but I get no fever or anything. Now I'm worried that my tonsil has cancer and it's spreading. Would a CT scan show everything in the neck including the tonsils or just some things? Should I feel confident that everything is in fact normal? I'm still so upset and don't know what to think. Any input would be appreciated.
