Can't sleep taking SSRI's? Anybody else

Hi there,
I've been on all the SSRI's and they all stop me from sleeping. I know it's the side effect from the tablets because i could sleep fine before i started taking any.
I'm now on Lofepramine and haven't been too bad so far. Wondered if anybody else has experienced the same thing?

I also had this awful side effect & after a week stopped taking them as i felt so crap. It is common so persevere. Take a bath & relax as much as poss before bed x

My sleep patterns are all over the place.

I sleep like I'm in a coma for 12 hours, then stay wide awake for 24 hours, then deep sleep for 12 hours, etc.

I'm trying to cut down on the Diazepam too, so that isn't helping either.

I feel so 'out of it' all the time.

Hi there Wombat. Yeah, i too have had terrible trouble sleeping when on any of the SSRIs. I don't know if it gets better with time - I was on Venlafaxine for a long time and I think my sleep pattern settled down but it is a big problem and it makes it hard to tell if the drug is doing you any good because you feel so lousy from lack of sleep!
