I was saddened to hear that Paul Newman had died. He, like a few other Hollywood actors, was a larger than life person who you could draw strength from. I think one of hardest things of getting old is seeing your hero's slowly disappear, which leaves a feeling of insecurity as you see these great peoples as being indestructible.

Tom, i didnt even know he'd died...how sad. I knew he was very ill, and i read the daily mail online every day but i havent seen any mention of him. Yes such a shame to lose him, and his marriage was a really solid one...a rarity in hollywood.

What a full life he led !
He was in over 50 films, married for 50 years, a philanthropist (sp) who donated millions to charity, and everyone who ever met him said what a wonderful human being he was.
He will be missed!

I was also sad to hear this, he was a lovely man and will be missed.
I Hope they put loads of his films on, then we can remeber what a fun loving person he was.

No I didn't know he had passed away either - that made me feel genuinely awwww! Liked him I did!
